Angel Reese jokes with her former Unrivaled team: “Y’all miss me yet?”
The 23-year-old forward will not play her second season in the league co-founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.

Angel Reese decided not to be part of the second year of Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 league co-founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.
The Chicago Sky star had participated last year, in her debut, as part of the league’s inaugural championship team, Rose BC. However, the team has not forgotten her.

The forward closed out her second year in the WNBA averaging 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
However, during the offseason, she decided to take a break. A recurring back injury limited the former LSU player to sitting out several games during the year, including the last three on the Sky’s schedule, so her decision is not surprising.
Despite this, Reese’s absence from Unrivaled is notable, not only for fans who were eager to see her play for the second consecutive year, but also for the team, who couldn’t help but comment on Angel’s latest post.
The 23-year-old forward had shared six photos of her outfit during the Orlando Magic vs. Denver Nuggets game (127-126) with her 5.2 million followers on her official Instagram account, and among the comments from her fans, one from Rose BC stood out, who left a rose emoji.
“Y’all miss me yet?” Reese quickly replied. “Will forever miss our Barbie, but we love seeing you thrive and smell your flowers this off-season,” the team let her know in their response.

Angel was part of the first-ever championship-winning team in league history, along with Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, Brittney Sykes, Azurá Stevens, and Lexie Hull. She also won the Defensive Player of the Year award.
The truth is that, despite not playing this year, the affection between both parties is more than clear and was demonstrated thanks to this exchange. Meanwhile, Reese is preparing for her third season with the Chicago Sky.
Angel remains with the Sky
In early September, the relationship between the 23-year-old star and the team suffered a breakdown after Angel publicly criticized her teammates in an interview with the Chicago Tribune.
Although Reese apologized for her comments, Sky suspended her and she was ruled out for the first half of the game against the Las Vegas Aces on September 7, as they deemed these comments “harmful” to the team. Due to her injury, Reese ultimately did not play.

Furthermore, despite her individual achievements, the team failed to qualify for the NWBA playoffs for the second consecutive year (10-34).
For this reason, rumors of her transfer grew stronger, but it was the forward herself who recently assured that she is staying in Chicago: “I’m under contract. I plan on returning to the Sky, continuing to talk to Tyler, and building that relationship with Jeff and Tyler,” she said.
