Two days after stepping out for her feature film directorial debut at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Mariska Hargitay is once again turning heads thanks to some cute PDA with her longtime partner Peter Hermann. The actors, who met on the set of Law & Order: SVU, were all smiles when they arrived for the amfAR gala, presented by Chopard at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc and hosted by the Foundation for AIDS Research.

For the special occasion, Hargitay pulled out all the stops in a white bridal-coded gown designed by the French fashion house Patou. The look featured a heavily beaded halter neckline and a short train, in keeping with the festival’s new dress code, which prohibits anything that might “hinder the proper flow of traffic.” Hermann, for his part, opted for a monochromatic black suit.
Hargitay has plenty to celebrate at this year’s festival: on Monday, she attended the premiere of her documentary, My Mom Jayne, with the couple’s children in tow. The Law & Order star sparkled in an off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera gown, which featured a black slinky top and a column skirt embroidered with hundreds of hot pink sequins.
Hargitay later documented the night on Instagram and included a sweet ode to Hermann in her caption: “Still basking in the glow of last night’s premiere of #MyMomJayne @cannes.film.festival….and forever basking in the glow of this beautiful love.”

The couple’s love story dates back to 2002. After meeting on set, they married in 2004 and welcomed their first son, August, in 2006. They later adopted two more children, Amaya and Andrew, in 2011.
“Our family is so perfect, or at least perfect for me,” Hargitay told People in 2018. “Together we’re just this whole, happy, joyful, chaotic, crazy unit. I’ve never known anything that was more right.”
