Most fans were so distracted they didn’t even notice Hargitay’s son August also tagged along.
After Mariska Hargitay, who plays Captain Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, recently enjoyed a New York Knicks game with her son August, she decided to take him to watch another one, and this time around, she brought a friend as well.
On May 30, Hargitay took to Instagram to share some photos from her special outing the night before with August and her co-star Kelli Giddish, showing off the great time she had with them. In the joyous snaps, Hargitay and Giddish seemed exhilarated by each other’s company, with August sitting beside his mother watching the game.
Fans of the actresses and their hit crime drama were in awe of the sweet photos highlighting their friendship, so much so that many didn’t even realize it was Hargitay’s son sitting beside her.
Hargitay wrote in the caption, “Let’s go @nyknicks !!! #KnicksIn7 #SpecialKnicksUnit #WeGotYou #OhCaptainMyCaptain 🏀🏀🏀🗽🗽🗽,” labeling the exciting duo the “Special Knicks Unit.”
Law & Order: SVU fans loved the duo, with replies like, “Female friendship is soooo important!!! Love a good girls night out,” and “This friendship makes my heart happy🥺❤️.”
“THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME,” declared a third fan, while another said, “I want to be apart of this friendship! Perfection.”
A few people didn’t even seem to clock that Hargitay’s son was also in the photos, with one writing, “The two guys next to both… 😂.”
Others noticed and were just as excited to get a rare sighting of her eldest child, such as a fan who said, “It’s so sweet how you and August always go to games together. 🧡💙🏀.”
Someone else chimed in, “Looking beautiful as ever. Isn’t that Marissa’s son on her left? So handsome!”
