For more than a decade, basketball conversations have largely centered on two names – LeBron James and Stephen Curry – but is a third entering the picture, and why is it the Indiana Fever‘s Caitlin Clark?
Both NBA champions have shaped the modern era of the sport, defining excellence and global appeal, yet a new contender for basketball’s global face might not even play in the league. Despite enduring her most challenging season in the WNBA, Clark‘s reach and impact have already positioned her among the sport’s most recognizable figures, and former NBA player Rashad McCants stirred debate.
“THE FACE OF THE NBA IS CAITLIN CLARK!!! Yea I said it!!!!,” McCants posted to X.com, formerly known as Twitter, as his statement drew criticism. Yet growing evidence suggests his sentiment may not be far-fetched.
According to a YouGov market research report, Clark ranks as the third most famous basketball player worldwide – behind only LeBron and Steph – reinforcing what many fans and analysts have already observed.

Her influence extends well beyond the court. During her rookie campaign, the WNBA shattered viewership and attendance records. More than 54 million unique viewers tuned in across national networks including ABC, CBS, ESPN, ESPN2, ION, and NBA TV. The league also reported 154 sellouts in 2024, a remarkable 242% increase from the previous season’s 45, and her arrival transformed fan engagement: social media viewership rose 436%, merchandise sales jumped 601%, and overall attendance climbed by nearly half.
Even in a year when Clark has played only 13 games due to injury, the WNBA has continued to set new records. By August 2025, attendance had surpassed 2.5 million fans – the highest in league history – and that number has since topped 3 million.
These achievements suggest that Caitlin Clark‘s influence transcends her statistical performance. She has become a cultural catalyst, drawing new audiences to women’s basketball and transforming the Fever into must-watch television. While other stars such as Brittney Griner, Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers, and Breanna Stewart also rank in YouGov‘s global top 20, Clark‘s presence at the top symbolizes a broader shift in basketball’s global narrative.

Kelsey Mitchell Heaps Praise on Caitlin Clark
Clark‘s leadership and energy continue to resonate within her team, even during her time away from the court, as Kelsey Mitchell, who has emerged as one of the league’s elite scorers, credited her unwavering enthusiasm for helping sustain team morale.
The star’s support came throughout a turbulent season. Even though injuries sidelined her this campaign, she continued to lift the team from the bench, helping with coaching and motivation.
“The one thing I love about Caitlin, too, is that we all love basketball the same way,” Mitchell shared on The Bird’s Eye View podcast. “When she did play compared to when she didn’t play, her passion remained the same. And I respected that from her, because it could have easily not been that way. She gave us her best when she was in the locker room. You talk about a kid in a candy store – that’s Caitlin. In a good way. She’s a live light. Her personality shows in her game, and it’s dope for her.”

Eminem stood where it all began — the cracked pavement, the flickering streetlights, the sound of distant sirens echoing through Detroit’s cold night. In 1999, Eminem returned to the city that built him and nearly broke him, standing in front of the same corner store where he once dreamed with empty pockets and endless rage. Going Back, filmed by MTV News, wasn’t just an interview — it was a reckoning. You could see it in his eyes: the pride, the pain, the ghosts of every verse he’d ever written in the dark. And as the cameras rolled, it wasn’t the superstar speaking anymore — it was Marshall Mathers, face to face with the boy he left behind.
The night air hung heavy with memory, each breath carrying the ghosts of battles fought in classrooms, alleys, and recording…
