Cardi B is preparing to take things personal on the second rollout phase of her album, and many believe this could mean she’s aiming directly at Offset. Their marriage has been rocky, with Offset making damaging claims — even questioning the paternity of one of their children. According to insiders, Cardi is ready to channel that pain into music, possibly turning her next project into an all-out takedown of her estranged husband.
Their divorce is also heating up in court, with assets on the line and several legal battles in play. On top of that, Cardi still faces her well-publicized “microphone incident,” though many argue it was clear self-defense.
Musically, Cardi recently dropped Outside, which fans loved, but her take on Imaginary Players hasn’t been well received. Critics say it’s simply not her lane, though she pushed for respect as a songwriter. It’s a familiar struggle — much like Drake chasing “authenticity” despite already having massive accolades.
Elsewhere in hip hop, Lil Yachty caught heat for a careless George Floyd reference, sparking backlash from figures like Stephen Jackson before he apologized. Benny the Butcher and Freddie Gibbs, meanwhile, were spotted in France squashing their long-running beef after years of lyrical shots, suggesting peace might finally be on the table.
The bigger industry story, however, is the collapse of 50 Cent’s BMF series on Starz. The show reportedly cost the network $42.5 million and more than 400,000 subscribers in just three months. Season 4 underperformed badly, in part due to behind-the-scenes drama involving 50 Cent and the BMF family. With little promotion and growing tension, the series has all but been abandoned.
Insiders say 50 wasn’t interested in letting Big Meech gain leverage once off house arrest, so he let the show wither. But the fallout is massive: hundreds of jobs lost for cast, crew, and production staff. Starz is now expected to cancel BMF after Season 4, leaving fans wary of investing in future 50 Cent projects that could end abruptly over ego clashes.
Finally, Chris Hansen has launched an investigation into Roblox, citing concerns about predators targeting children on the platform. His crime network, True Blue, is working with law enforcement and victims to hold Roblox accountable for failing to protect young players.
