Nikola Jokic, Serbia Rout Czech Republic to Stay Undefeated in EuroBasket Group Play

Serbia needed 39 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals from Nikola Jokić to beat Latvia 84-80 on Saturday. They needed far less from him on Monday.

The Serbians smoked Czech Republic, 82-60, moving to a perfect 4-0 in Group A during EuroBasket play. Turkey is also 4-0 in Group A, setting up a showdown between the two teams on Wednesday for the top spot in the group ahead of the weekend’s knockout phase.

Jokić was only needed for 18 minutes on Monday, putting up six points, seven rebounds and four assists. But he gave Serbia plenty—he was plus-15 during his time on the court.

That left him plenty of time to enjoy the party:

Aleksa Avramovic led Serbia with 14 points and eight assists, while Filip Petrusev added 13 points. Jaromir Bohacik was the only player for Czech Republic to score in double digits, putting up 12 points and three rebounds.

Vasilije Micić also made his return for Serbia and more than left his mark on the game:

The Czech Republic has gone 0-4 in Group A and will finish its tournament on Wednesday against Kristaps Porziņģis and Latvia.
