album, tour dates, and his book. So during these press runs, he keeps bringing up names like Drake and 50 Cent…
He insulted Drake and 50 Cent hoping people would pay attention and cover him — just like I’m doing right now. And honestly, it worked.
On Joe and Jadakiss’ podcast, he actually threatened 50 Cent. Check this clip out.

“I like what you said about goofy rappers moving reckless, and imagine if I got the chance to smack 50 Cent with this.”
Come on, man.
“Yo-yo family show, Roy. Nah, I’m just saying. Just imagine it. That’d be a blessing. I’m out of flags.”
“We were just talking about—”
“No, no, no. You brought him up.”
“No, I wasn’t talking about him.”
“No, YOU brought him up.”
“No, I didn’t.”
“Yeah, yeah, I get it. I mean these goofy rappers hanging around.”
“I’m sorry you got [yelling]. I ain’t got nothing with a million dollars. You know what I mean? Nah, I didn’t say that.”
He was clearly talking about 50 Cent.
“I wasn’t even thinking about him. I was talking about when—”
“Nah, I caught that alley-oop. I caught it.”
[laughter]
“I’m giving Joe Crack what Joe Crack asked for from goofy rappers. 50 Cent.”
“I never— You sent me that basketball hoop at 50. Come get it. 50.”
“I don’t have to say it. But let me be clear. I definitely wasn’t thinking about 50 Cent. I was thinking about some old-school rappers. I don’t wanna say who.”
“Some dudes I knew back in the day. They had that game over at Choco. Then they pulled up over there. They came over there. Nah—”
[laughter]
“That’s Gun. The dude with the dark cheeks. What’s his name again? Uncle Murder. His cheeks darker than him.”
“Forehead. He needs that rejuvenation cream.”
Then Uncle Murder responded on Instagram by reposting a classic interview from The Breakfast Club where DMX mocked Rick Ross, basically saying Ross…
“Doesn’t really make good music and only talks about food, Maybachs, wine, and stuff like that.”
I can’t play the clip because of copyright, but here’s what Uncle Murder said in the caption.
He wrote:
“Heard Officer Ricky aka Rich Forever talking crazy about Joe and Jada 😂 Yeahhh.”
“We got the word BOZO. You see what RIP DMX thought about you? We feel the same way.”
Then he tagged The Real Report and Volume.
So 50 Cent decided to respond to Rick Ross by promoting his TV show Raising Kanan. And in the caption he wrote:
“This really a slap. Damn, what they gonna say about this 😂 Raising Kanan June 12. Boom.”
So basically, he responded by promoting his own product — the same way Rick Ross was promoting his.
Now I wanna talk about the facts behind all this.
I’m gonna break down some numbers and let you decide who’s really desperate in their career right now.
At the moment, Ross is touring to promote his book, the 20th anniversary Port of Miami tour, and his upcoming album called Stone.
So every time he goes out to promote those projects, he brings up Drake or 50 Cent.
Recently Drake dissed him on the Iceman album, so mentioning Drake makes sense because Drake mentioned him first.
He has every right to respond. No problem there.
But with 50 Cent? 50 hasn’t mentioned this guy on Instagram in probably two or three years.
So it’s been a long time since 50 directly addressed Rick Ross, and honestly credit to 50 for ignoring him.
The only time this guy really makes headlines now is when he mentions 50 Cent or Drake.
He even talked about wanting to buy G-Unit’s catalog. 50 never responded because he simply doesn’t care.
I’ve got some numbers for you.
50 Cent talked about this back in 2015 during a Tim Westwood interview. I probably can’t play much of the clip because of copyright, but in that interview, 50 basically said when people mention you constantly, it usually comes from desperation.
Over time, you see who really won and who still has cultural relevance.
And clearly, 50 still has influence.
Every Instagram post he makes instantly gets attention.
Recently with the Diddy documentary, everything he posted exploded online. Everybody was talking about it.
When’s the last time Rick Ross made headlines without mentioning Drake or 50 Cent?
That tells you the desperation is obvious at this point.
Ross has to do this to sell whatever he’s promoting because nothing he’s promoting is actually selling.
He hasn’t had a truly impactful project in years.
Music, television, business — nothing has really broken through for him in a long time.
Musically, both Ross and 50 are past their prime.
50’s last album came out in 2014.
Ross has dropped more music since then, but the quality hasn’t exactly moved people.
Nobody really cares anymore, and that’s just the truth.
Both of these guys already had their legendary runs.
But the clearest proof is in the touring numbers.
50 Cent’s “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” anniversary tour in 2023 sold out almost everywhere and grossed around $105–108 million.
He sold out arenas across 103 cities worldwide.
At one point it was one of the top-selling hip-hop tours ever.
The tour reportedly averaged nearly a million dollars per show.
Now compare that to Ross.
Ross announced the 20th anniversary Port of Miami tour with only about 15–20 dates in the U.S., not worldwide.
And he framed it like an orchestra-style event.
Why?
Because if he promoted it as a normal arena tour, he probably couldn’t sell enough tickets.
When you look at the numbers, he’s struggling to sell tickets even in Miami — his own city.
Meanwhile, when 50 toured Florida, he sold around 92.7% of tickets in Tampa, moving over 14,000 tickets and grossing about $879,000.
The next night in West Palm Beach, he sold over 11,800 tickets and made nearly $800,000.
Ross, meanwhile, booked the James L. Knight Center in Miami with a capacity of about 4,600 seats.
And even there, tons of tickets were still available.
Only one section appeared sold out while the rest still had large blocks of unsold seats.
That’s the difference we’re talking about.
50 was selling out 15,000-seat venues.
Ross is struggling to fill a 4,600-seat theater in his hometown.
If Ross tried to do full arena tours, many dates would probably have to be canceled because the ticket sales wouldn’t justify the costs.
That’s why he markets it as an orchestra-style experience — smaller venues, smaller capacity, easier to fill.
Across the country, the ticket sales appear to be struggling.
And that’s exactly why he keeps bringing up Drake, G-Unit, and 50 Cent.
Because controversy is the only thing generating attention for him right now.
I keep seeing people online saying Ross makes better music than Drake or 50.
Okay then — why aren’t people buying tickets?
If everybody loves the music so much, why aren’t they showing up to the live shows?
At the end of the day, I’m just looking at the numbers and the facts.
The reality is this guy is struggling to sell.
And the funniest part is Ross talking about slapping 50 Cent when history shows Ross has been embarrassed multiple times in real-life situations.
There was even a tweet floating around saying:
“Rick Ross is only tough on records. He lost every real-life confrontation he ever had.”
The tweet went on mentioning incidents involving Trick Daddy’s crew, Jeezy’s crew, BET Awards altercations, Gunplay, and even Drake’s people in Canada.
The point being: every time things supposedly got real, Ross never actually did anything.
So talking about slapping somebody sounds ridiculous when your history says otherwise.
And honestly, that’s the reality of the situation.
Rick Ross built an entire image around being a street boss, but over time that image faded.
People simply don’t care the same way anymore.
I wouldn’t even be surprised if his next album includes another Drake diss or maybe even a Kendrick Lamar feature just to create momentum.
Because without controversy, the buzz just isn’t there.
Meanwhile, when you compare catalogs and streaming numbers, more people still listen to Drake and 50 Cent.
That’s just reality.
You can argue personal taste all day long.
But I’m looking at worldwide popularity, numbers, touring, and impact — not individual opinions.
That’s my analysis.
Let me know what you think, and I’ll catch you in the next video.
