The three-time Super Bowl MVP Mahomes connected with Argentian soccer great Lionel Messi as the two Adidas athletes posed on a field and promoted the World Cup, which is headed to North America next year.

They were alongside the FIFA World Cup Trophy, and Mahomes captioned the X post, “World Cup Kick-off with @adidas.”

The post could be a hint as to what Mahomes hopes to accomplish after his eventual NFL retirement.

The 29-year-old could attempt to purchase a stake in an overseas men’s soccer team.
