Shocking news from Brazil: Football Federation president accused of using public funds to send mistress to the World Cup; CBF responds.
Information regarding the activities of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is causing a stir in the country.
While the Brazilian national team is still under pressure after their draw against Morocco in their opening match of the 2026 World Cup, another scandal has erupted off the field, this time focusing on the President of the CBF, Samir Xaud. According to an investigation by Portal LeoDias, Xaud is suspected of allowing the CBF to pay for expenses related to women allegedly close to him during the World Cup.
The name most frequently mentioned is Camila Cristina Andrade, a businesswoman and fitness expert from Roraima state. The report states that Andrade stayed at the Hyatt Regency Grand Central hotel in New York from June 2nd to 10th, coinciding with the CBF President’s official trip to the 2026 World Cup.
According to the published documents, the hotel bill totaled 59,424.81 Brazilian real (approximately $10,500 USD), and the booking is believed to be linked to Mr. Xaud. Portal LeoDias also claims that Mr. Xaud and Andrade appeared together at the Harry Cipriani restaurant in Manhattan on June 3rd before leaving in the same rented car arranged for the CBF President during his stay in New York.

However, the CBF has not yet confirmed this information, while Mr. Xaud has not publicly acknowledged any personal relationship with Andrade. What makes the situation even more serious is that this is not the only case under investigation.
According to the investigation, influencer and pharmacist Tamires Fernandes Barcellos, commonly known as Tata Barcellos, is also alleged to have received special treatment during her trip to Doha to watch the FIFA Club World Cup final between Flamengo and PSG in December.
The article states that she flew business class on Emirates, stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Doha from December 15th to 19th, and had access to the VIP area during the match. Documents cited show that although the booking was in Barcellos’ name, the bill of 17,424 Brazilian real was paid directly by the CBF.
Journalist Leo Dias, who conducted the investigation, believes these are not isolated cases.
He stated: “He took over the CBF more than a year ago, and since then, many trips have been paid for by the Brazilian Football Confederation for friends, relatives, and even mistresses.”

Facing the growing wave of criticism, CBF has denied all accusations. In a statement published by Brazilian media, the Federation affirmed: “The organization’s expenses are only related to CBF’s institutional activities. The personal expenses of the leaders are paid by themselves.”
CBF also emphasized that the current apparatus operates based on the principles: “Transparency, administrative accountability and commitment to integrity”.
According to Infobae, after Portal LeoDias contacted him to verify the information, Mr. Xaud paid the hotel bill in New York on Sunday and through close people sent payment documents to the editor.
However, the doubts have not stopped. CBF is said to have requested an extension until 1:00 p.m. on June 16 to continue explaining other expenses being questioned.
The scandal appeared at an extremely sensitive time for Brazilian football. While coach Carlo Ancelotti and his students are trying to overcome professional pressure at the 2026 World Cup, the CBF leadership is now also facing a significant crisis of confidence.
And when questions about the use of the federation budget still have not been satisfactorily answered, the incident is expected to continue to shock Brazilian football in the coming days.
