Fat Joe recalls him & Big Pun hearing Eminem for the first time
During a recent episode of Joe & Jada, Fat Joe tells Jadakiss he was there to witness Eminem’s first live performance in New York City, as Slim Shady opened for him and Big Pun at the Lyricist Lounge where he blew the roof off. Joe and Jada also discuss Biz Markie bringing out Big Daddy Kane for the first time, Big Daddy Kane introducing the hip hop world to Jay-Z, and a legendary KRS-One show.
I was there first time in New York City we ever seen Eminem. He opened up for me and Pun at the Lyricist Lounge. The Outsidaz, group out of New Jersey. They brought him out and you knew he was special.” said Fat Joe.
Then he continued: “All them dudes got dreadlocks and all that and he was so skinny they was holding him by the back of his t-shirt so he don’t fly off the sage. He was just spitting so crazy, me and Pun, we all looking at each other like “OH MY GOD! WHO’S THIS WHITE BOY? THAT BOY CRAZY!’”
