As the Denver Nuggets prepared for a Sunday night matchup against the Golden State Warriors, the WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark made a massive statement regarding the Denver big man, Nikola Jokic.
While discussing the superstar center, Clark praised Jokic for making an instant impact upon recovering from a scary knee injury earlier this season.
The Indiana Fever star finished the statement with a big claim.
“He didn’t miss a beat. I think everybody knew he was going to do everything he could to get back. I mean, there’s not many people that average a triple-double. You’re lucky enough to get maybe a couple of those in a season, he’s done it all year long, and in back-to-back years,” Clark said.
“It’s pretty incredible. Honestly, he’s probably my favorite player to watch. I think he’s the best player in the world.”
Nikola Jokic Has The Resume To Back The Claim

Jokic suffered a knee injury during the Nuggets’ December 29 matchup against the Miami Heat.
When he was ruled out for several weeks, it officially became Jokic’s biggest obstacle of his career. He missed action from December 31 up until January 30. He returned with a 31-point, 12-rebound performance against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Admittedly, Jokic doesn’t feel like he’s been as consistent this season. The star center recently claimed that his setback has prevented him from playing his best ball.
“I think for me, it was a little bit inconsistent just because the injury. The first time I was coming back from injury. So, you know, the turnovers and good games is going to happen, bad games, bad missed shots is going to happen,” Jokic recently told reporters.
“It was just something new for me, and I will say I’m consistent. … I think before the injury, I played really, really high-level basketball, and then since the injury, it’s so-so.”

So-so to Jokic is still All-Star-caliber for just about anybody else.
Heading into the action against the Warriors, Jokic was posting averages of 27.9 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.8 assists.
Once again, Jokic is in the MVP conversation. While the basketball world is leaning towards Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as March closes out, Jokic will more than likely be a finalist for the sixth season in a row.
The Nuggets center is already a three-time winner, which certainly helps Clark’s claim, as Jokic is just one of just nine players to have at least 3 MVPs in NBA history.
