Ice Spice reveals the sweet and surprising side of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship

Turns out, being a global superstar couple doesn’t mean you can’t be down-to-earth and funny. Just ask Ice Spice.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may dominate headlines, but according to Ice Spice, they’re a lot more relatable than fans might expect. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, the rapper shared a rare glimpse into her friendship with the couple. And it came with a twist.

“They’re really, really funny,” the “Barbie World” artist gushed. “They’re probably some of my funniest friends. They’re like us.”

While the public sees red carpets, stadium entrances, and record-breaking concerts, Ice Spice sees inside jokes and laughter. “They’re funny, you guys. That’s the scoop.”

A friendship that started before “Karma”

Ice Spice, 25, and Swift, 35, have been close since 2020, long before their hit remix of “Karma”. Their bond quickly deepened from collaborators to confidantes. In fact, Ice Spice has become a recurring presence at NFL games alongside the Grammy winner.

Most memorably, she joined Swift in her suite during the 2024 Super Bowl when the Kansas City Chiefs took on the San Francisco 49ers. The rapper famously looked bewildered during the game and later admitted she had no idea what was happening.

“I was incredibly confused. I’m still confused,” she told Jimmy Fallon last summer with a laugh. “I honestly would just wait until Taylor cheered, and then I’m like, ‘Yay!’”

Still, confusion didn’t keep her from showing up again. When the Chiefs later faced the Eagles in February 2025, and lost, Swift brought Ice Spice along again for support.

Real friendship, not just for show

As the friendship drew public attention, some skeptics questioned whether Ice Spice was riding Swift’s fame. But the rapper had a sharp response in Rolling Stone last July.

“Why would she not want to be my friend?” she asked bluntly. “She’s so funny. I think our personalities mesh really well.”

Swift echoed that sentiment, praising Ice Spice’s business instincts and ambition: “I knew based on the questions she asked and the observations she made that she didn’t just want to be a passenger in her own career. She wanted to be the driver of it.”

From watching Miss Americana together back in 2020 to cheering for Kelce in the VIP box, Ice and Taylor’s friendship has been years in the making.

“That’s my sis,” Ice Spice told Variety.
