Nobody lies better than the GOAT, and we’re reminded of this with his latest Duke dream

LeBron James is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. He holds another GOAT crown, though: GLOAT, the greatest liar of all time. On Nov. 11, James woke up and sent out an innocent tweet about a dream he had omn Nov. 10. He dreamed that he attended Duke University, and he was about to make his basketball debut there.
We all know that LeBron never went to college, and he was selected first overall straight out of high school. But the way he described the dream — and how outlandish it was — had social media on fire once again calling him a liar.
So it got us thinking, what are LeBron’s funniest lies so far? We compiled our top five.
P.S. We will say that we do not have any confirmation that these are lies, but we also don’t have any confirmation — outside of LeBron’s own mouth — that these statements are true.
5. The Autobiography of Malcolm X
During the Lakers’ 2020 championship run, one of the funniest moments was a postgame press conference where LeBron was seen holding The Autobiography of Malcolm X. Taylor Rooks, a sports journalist, asked him what he learned from the book so far. LeBron went through a very long-winded response that was pretty much a whole lot of nothing. Social media again called him out, claiming he was still on the first page of the book
4. Knowing about the Migos in Miami
After the tragic passing of Takeoff in October of 2022, LeBron had a lot to say about him. He wore a Takeoff chain and a black suit to his game that night; post-game he told the media how much Takeoff meant to him. He claimed he was a huge Migos fan and Takeoff was always his favorite, which is actually believable. The lie then came when he said that, back in Miami in 2010, he tried to put his old teammates on and they would always tell him to turn it off. The problem is Migos didn’t start making music until 2011 and were very local to Atlanta up until 2012-13, so the timeline isn’t adding up.
3. Three rims
During a 2021 play-in matchup against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, LeBron had a super clutch moment that would become the talk of the entire tournament. With the game tied at 100, LeBron heaved up a three-pointer that would go in and win his Lakers the game.
“I saw three rims,” he was famously caught telling Steph Curry as he was running back down the court.
Then in the postgame, he stuck with it and told a whole explanation about seeing three rims because he was poked in the eye and he shot at the middle one. Never change, ‘Bron — never change.
2. The Godfather
It doesn’t get any more classic than the movie The Godfather. Everybody growing up has seen the iconic drug dealing movie, and near everyone has a favorite quote from the movie — well, everyone except LeBron. During a NBA Finals postgame in 2016, a reporter asked LeBron about the movie. The basketball legend responded that he had watched the movie over six times. The follow-up question is where the lie began because LeBron was then asked what was his favorite line from the classic flick — he couldn’t come up with one, leading many to speculate he hadn’t watch the movie at all.
1.Kobe
The lie of all lies. The lie that started the “LeBron is the greatest liar” trend. The internet is undefeated, and nothing is truly ever lost here. Someone on Twitter uncovered a clip of LeBron talking about knowing Kobe was going to score 81 points heading into the game. Keep in mind: LeBron and Kobe weren’t friends; Kobe didn’t have any, so it wasn’t like Kobe called and told him what he was planning to do. The thing is LeBron could have been telling the truth; it was how he said he knew and his mannerisms that gave it away.
