Angel Reese has threatened to boycott WNBA games if the league does not meet players’ demands for the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, as the Chicago Sky forward continued to complain about her salary.

Reese signed a four-year, $324,383 rookie scale contract ahead of her first pro season, and is set to make just under $75,000 in 2025, according to Spotrac. And while WNBA players are set to negotiate a new CBA after the players’ union opted out of the current one in October (it still runs through October 31, 2025), Reese said on her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast that players could skip games if negotiations go awry.
‘If y’all don’t give us what we want, we sitting out,’ she said, while talking to fellow WNBA player Dijonai Carrington.
Reese added that she ‘can’t wait’ for the new CBA, which will be negotiated amid a massive increase in league popularity, and is set to go into effect for the 2026 season.
The league also announced a new 11-year TV rights deal with Disney, Amazon Prime and NBCU in July.

Angel Reese said WNBA players deserve more on the latest episode of her podcast

The contract is worth about $2.2billion, or $200million annually per multiple reports, and is set to begin in 2026.

Reese added that players in the league ‘deserve more,’ as young All-Stars like her and Caitlin Clark make just five-figure salaries.
In fact, it seems as though the rookie scale contracts for 2026 draftees will usurp the rookie deals that Clark and Reese are currently set to still be playing on three years into their career.
Reese said she was ‘hurt’ by that possibility, while Carrington said she had been in league meetings and confirmed that to be the case.
Reese, who averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and provided a strong defensive boost for the Sky, has previously complained about her WNBA salary not covering her $8,000-per-month rent.
‘Hating pays my bills, baby. I just hope you know the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think that pays one of my bills,’ she said on Instagram. ‘Literally, I’m trying to think of my rent for where I stay at. I’m gonna do the math real quick. I don’t even know my salary.’
‘Yo, I’m living beyond my means! No, my rent is more than that. It’s $8,000. I’m living beyond my means.’
Aside from her WNBA salary, Reese also has endorsement deals with the likes of Reebok, Reese’s and Beats by Dre.
