Chiefs’ heiress Gracie Hunt is speaking out over the Bad Bunny NFL halftime show controversy.

Last month, Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny was named the Super Bowl halftime performer, which angered many and led Turning Point USA, run by Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, to plan an alternative Super Bowl halftime show.

During a recent appearance on Fox’s “Will Cain Show”, Gracie Hunt, whose grandfather was one of the pioneers of the Super Bowl, says she supports Kirk’s alternative halftime show.

“When my grandfather named the Super Bowl, he intended it to be something children and families of all ages could come together and watch and really believed that the game should come first,” Hunt told Cain “That football is the attraction and that it didn’t need to compromise its character or rely on cheap appeal to draw an audience, especially when that approach can alienate so much of the fan base.

“The NFL honors women, the military, this country, celebrates communities, so I think that whoever they select going forward for the halftime show needs to reflect those values more closely. So, I respect Erika.”

Despite the backlash, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell insists he’s not changing the halftime show.

“It’s carefully thought through. I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism. It’s pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching.

We’re confident it’s going to be a great show. He understands the platform that he’s on, and I think it’s going to be exciting and a united moment. He’s one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world. That’s what we try to achieve.”

As of now, it’s still unclear who will headline Turning Point USA’s half-show in February.
