Sales of Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs No. 15 jersey have plummeted following the Chiefs’ latest season
The three-time Super Bowl champion held the No. 2 spot in 2024, just behind No. 1 placeholder Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles.
But for 2025, Mahomes dropped 20 slots and sits at No. 22, behind Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and ahead of Detroit Lions’ wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, the NFL Shop shared on Friday, Jan. 9.
Now, the previous No. 6 recipient, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, has scored the No. 1 position. New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye took over Mahomes’ second-place position.

The next of the top 10 are San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, Seattle Seahawks’ wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Barkley, Chicago Bears’ quarterback Caleb Williams and Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Three of Warner’s 49ers teammates round out the list — running back Christian McCaffrey, tight end George Kittle and, finally, quarterback Brock Purdy.
The 11th top-selling jersey belongs to Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, the 2025 Super Bowl MVP.

Mahomes’ slide down the list follows a difficult 2025 for the star quarterback. In February, he and the Chiefs were crushed by Barkley and the Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl. The following season, Mahomes hoped to avenge that loss, but the Chiefs’ lackluster record kept them out of the playoffs, and in their final, must-win game, he tore his ACL.
Mahomes immediately underwent surgery and is already rehabbing the injury in hopes of returning in time for Week 1 next fall. He shared a cryptic Instagram post on Tuesday, Jan. 5, that included a photo of him walking off the field with his helmeted head hanging low in his Chiefs jersey.
He then added a second photo that included him jumping high in the end zone with a football in hand to score a touchdown.
It remains unclear if he’ll be healed by the 2026-2027 NFL season, but the Chiefs’ vice president of sports medicine and performance, Rick Burkholder, said he is estimating Mahomes will be back in time for the season. Burkholder told reporters on Dec. 17, that the “ballpark” estimation for the QB’s recovery is roughly “nine months,” meaning he could return for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season, on Sept. 10.
“Every player is different. Every sport is different. Every position is different,” Burkholder said, according to ESPN, adding that Mahomes “is so in tune to what he does, he does it a little quicker.”
