The Los Angeles Lakers added another win to their record on Sunday. Luka Doncic’s 31 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists helped the Lakers push a 112-108 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. However, LeBron James’ strong performance captured the most attention.

James had 29 points, seven rebounds and six assists on a respectable 70.6% shooting. In the fourth quarter, he took over the game, leading the Lakers with 12 points. He took it upon himself to do most of the work. With under a minute left, the four-time champion shot a clutch mid-range jumper. His shot pushed the Lakers’ lead to five, giving them the upper hand against the 76ers.

“Clutch genes. Felt like a movie,” Ayton said.

“It was just me watching a movie, it was a GOAT moment. He had his moment, the fans felt it.”

Ayton also said that he had to stop celebrating when James made the clutch shot to watch his teammate take over. The 6-foot-11, who had 14 points and 12 rebounds, didn’t want to miss a moment.

Even Doncic was amazed by James’ performance. He called his co-star’s fourth-quarter explosion “vintage” during his postgame presser. The four-time MVP told Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet that his legs felt great, which helped him play assertively on offense.

It was a great game for James, since his streak of scoring at least 10 points snapped on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors. He’s also recovering from sciatica, which is why he’s struggled to find his rhythm. In his first six games, he averaged 14.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists.
