Brittany Mahomes is not slowing down. The Kansas City Current co-owner and wife of Patrick Mahomes opened up to Yahoo Entertainment about how raising three kids under six has quietly reshaped the way she moves through life. With daughters Sterling Skye, 5, and Golden Raye, just 16 months, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III, 3, the 30-year-old says she now operates with a clarity she did not have before becoming a mother.
How has motherhood changed Brittany Mahomes?
Brittany Mahomes is direct about what shifted. “Becoming a mom changed so many things in my life and changed how I looked at so many things,” she said. “It really reshaped and redefined a lot of things in my life.” That is not vague motivational language for her. It shows up in how she spends her time, what she agrees to, and what she no longer tolerates. She described the mindset that now drives her decisions: “Everything I do now is connected to creating more opportunities and creating a future that my children can be proud of.” The pivot from personal ambition to legacy-building is a notable one, especially for someone whose public profile was already built on hustle long before she became a co-owner of a NWSL franchise.
On the question of focus, she did not sugarcoat it. “I think when you become a mom, you learn to say no to things that aren’t as important and focus on what’s best for your life and your family,” she said. “Keeping my eyes and my mind and my focus on my family and the things that matter the most.” For someone who operates at the pace Brittany does, saying no is genuinely a skill. She also framed motherhood as fuel, not friction. “It’s made me more intentional, more purposeful and honestly, more motivated to keep going and keep showing my kids that there are no boundaries in front of you,” she said. “You can achieve anything. You can be a part of anything that you want to.
You need to dream big and understand that you have to work hard and do the hard things to do the fun things.”This summer has been a good example of that philosophy in action. Brittany recently shared on her Instagram Stories that she had enrolled her children in what sounds like every available activity. Sterling wrapped up her KC Current soccer camp with a water gun fight. Bronze is deep into T-ball and apparently loving every second of it. And Golden, not yet walking long, is already along for the ride.”I’m a….soccer mom, tennis mom, golf mom, Tball mom, dance mom, gymnastics mom,” Brittany wrote. “We don’t sit still.”That last line is probably the most honest thing she could have said.
