Ana Navarro and Pam Bondi aren’t as close as they once were with The View star dishing on how she’s changed. Pam was recently parodied with Kristi Noem on Saturday Night Live

Ana Navarro explained her old impression of Pam Bondi

Ana Navarro didn’t hold back on Monday’s episode of The View as she dissed Pam Bondi after a recent Saturday Night Live sketch.

After all, Ana knew Pam personally before growing apart in recent years. Before joining The View in 2013, Ana was a well-known political strategist and commentator. While she’s notably aligned with the Republican party in the past, she’s been a vocal opponent to the MAGA agenda, including the current United States Attorney General.

On the show, she explained, “I’ve known Pam Bondi for a long time, I haven’t spoken to her obviously in a few years but, this is a completely different Pam Bondi than the person I knew in Florida who was an affable, nice.”

While Pam served as the Attorney General in Florida, Ana was deeply wrapped up in the political scene of the divisive state. She aided in the transition team for Florida governor Jeb Bush in 1998. Plus, she helped carry out his immigration policy thereafter. Ana and Pam ran in the same circles, but Ana assured The View fans that Pam was completely different at the time.

Ana and The View’s panel laughed about Saturday Night Live’s parody of Pam and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey played the political figures, who responded with a sort of positive slant. Whoopi Goldberg explained, “So, Bondi responded to the bit and tagged Kristi Noem, writing, ‘Should we recreate this picture in Chicago? Loving Amy Poehler.’ Is leaning into this right?”

According to Ana, Pam’s post showed that she “thinks it’s a good thing” to be parodied by the show, despite “people skewering them and making fun of them.” Ana added, “And probably, for her with the MAGA base and with Trump, it is a good think. I think being skewered and imitated on Saturday Night Live — we’ve all be imitated — is kind of like a rite of passage.”

She added, “I think she’s loving this. I think she’s loving the fact that it’s, you know — that we are talking about her this morning — is probably raising her stock with the MAGA base, but, frankly I think what she’s doing to the institution of the DOJ and the oversight in Congress is shameful and embarrassment and is going to go down in history as one of the worst performances by an attorney general in front of Congress.”

However, Ana’s costar didn’t quite agree. Sara Haines, known for her more left-leaning moderate stances, felt that Pam’s response was only rationale. She said, “I think the only way you can reply to comedy and look like you can take a joke is by doing what she did. I think the only way to handle jokes like that are so lean into them because otherwise you just look dumb.”
