The peaceful life at David Beckham’s estate in the Cotswolds, England, has delighted fans. The former football star uses the property to raise chickens, collect eggs, and grow flowers.

“I truly love this place. Nowhere makes me happier than being here,” Beckham shared.

That love is reflected in the effort he and his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, have devoted to renovating the approximately 26-acre property.

Nearly a decade ago, Beckham began a project to transform two deteriorating stone barns—one with a thatched roof and the other with a stone-tiled roof—into a luxurious country home.

He also added a third building and connected all three structures with a long wing, creating an overall E-shaped layout—a style of architecture that became fashionable during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I.

When asked by the media why he chose the Cotswolds instead of another location, Beckham explained that he considers it one of the most beautiful rural areas in England. The family can travel there easily from London for short breaks, allowing them to visit regularly.

At first, his wife was not particularly fond of country living. However, when the whole family returned to see the completed house, she completely changed her mind.

“She loves this place. Whenever we come here, Victoria sleeps more, reads books, and the whole family takes walks along the village roads. I usually come down on Friday morning, Victoria brings the children in the afternoon, and we stay until Sunday evening before leaving,” he revealed.

One of the areas Beckham invested considerable care in is the chicken coop beside the vegetable garden. The coop has several levels, with separate sections for different breeds of chickens. Each section has its own name.

In addition to raising chickens, Beckham created a dedicated beekeeping area, with the hives arranged carefully to provide a natural environment for the bees to thrive. The honey harvested there is bottled by the family and sold under their own brand.

The former England captain has said that country life gives him a sense of peace and relaxation. Every weekend, he comes up with new ideas for improving the garden and enjoys the results of his own work.

Country Life After the Glory of Football

Recently, on his personal social media account, which has attracted 87.8 million followers, former English footballer David Beckham posted a series of videos and photos showing himself checking the chicken coop, walking through a flower-filled garden, and visiting the greenhouse at his countryside estate in England.

“Come with me to check on the chickens,” the 51-year-old former player said.

In the video, the former England captain crawled into the chicken coop to collect freshly laid eggs. He also gave viewers a tour of the garden, which was filled with flowers, as well as the lush greenhouse that had been carefully maintained.

One of the garden’s highlights is a collection of white roses named after Beckham.

The variety was bred by David Austin Roses and officially unveiled at the Chelsea Flower Show in May to celebrate the former midfielder’s birthday.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Beckham family estate is a Grade II-listed country property located in the village of Great Tew, Oxfordshire.

The couple purchased the property in 2016 for £6.15 million, equivalent to approximately 215 billion VND.

The Beckham family frequently shares everyday moments from the property.

Several years ago, Victoria Beckham humorously teased her husband after finding him carefully reading the book Keeping Chickens for Dummies.

It appears that his studying paid off. In the latest video, Beckham confidently crawled into the coop to look for eggs. He then strolled leisurely through the garden, admired the potted plants, and smiled beside brightly blooming flowers inside the greenhouse.

Many fans expressed delight at seeing the former football superstar’s ordinary daily life in the place that brings him such happiness.

Why Is Beckham So Captivated by the Cotswolds?

Although he still owns homes in London and the United States, where he is a co-owner of Inter Miami CF, the Cotswolds countryside remains the place with the greatest emotional appeal for the former England captain.
