Neymar faces legal trouble just before his debut for Brazil at the 2026 World Cup.
Neymar unexpectedly faces a request from prosecutors for advertising contracts related to a betting site, with the site facing a fine of over 500 billion VND.
Neymar’s name has just appeared in an investigation related to a betting site in Brazil. Although not the subject of the investigation, the Brazilian superstar and famous influencer Virginia Fonseca have been asked to provide advertising contracts signed with the betting platform.
Recently, an incident has caused a stir in the Brazilian entertainment and sports world when the country’s prosecutors officially requested the Blaze betting site to submit advertising contracts related to Neymar Jr., Virginia Fonseca, and many other social media influencers. According to Brazilian media, the request was made within the framework of a civil investigation to clarify the operations of the online betting platform that once gained popularity thanks to a series of promotional campaigns with celebrities.
Neymar is not under investigation but his name is still mentioned.
It is noteworthy that Neymar is not the subject of the investigation. The prosecution asserted that the request for advertising contracts was solely to facilitate the review of the marketing strategies the betting company used to attract users.
Specifically, authorities want to clarify whether the platform used enticing messages such as “earn extra income” or “supplementary income” to promote its betting activities.
In addition to Neymar and Virginia Fonseca, two other influencers, Lucas Lira and Bruna Sunaika, are also on the list of those whose advertising contracts are being requested.

Prosecutors are requesting an investigation into Neymar’s endorsement deal with a leading Brazilian betting company.
The investigation was launched after prosecutors received numerous complaints regarding the Brazilian betting company’s operations. According to published technical reports, the platform received over 42,000 user complaints.
The complaints mainly revolved around accounts being unexpectedly locked, winnings being withheld or delayed, and regulations allegedly unfavorable to customers. Thanks to partnerships with stars like Neymar, this betting platform had a strong presence on social media and in online promotional campaigns.
According to prosecutors, if found guilty of wrongdoing, Blaze could face class action damages of up to 120 million Brazilian real, equivalent to over 560 billion Vietnamese dong.
For many years, Neymar has been considered one of Blaze’s most prominent brand ambassadors. Therefore, the appearance of the Santos superstar’s name in this investigation file quickly attracted significant public attention, even though he has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
